Converses, Saltwaters, and $15 sandals are what I normally wear to traverse through terrains of all sorts. I climbed 2 days up and 2 days down Annapurna’s Poon Hill Trek in Converses and it was totally fine. But now that I’m a teeny bit older, I feel the need for better quality, more supportive walking shoes to protect myself from rolled ankles (happens a lot) and a strained lower back.
I had been window shopping for a while when I found a pair of The North Face “Vibram” lightweight hiking shoes for $50 at TJ Maxx!
Tada!
Just to make sure this pair was a keeper, I checked with BackCountry.com’s article “How to Choose the Right Hiking Shoes and Backpacking Boots.” While my pair’s not perfect, for $50 I’m happy with my investment!
What do you guys think? What shoes do you wear for long travels?
